The global environment, development and tourism have changed. In recent years, many heritage sites and cultural properties have been threatened.
To protect, we diagnose the target, plan and implement preventive conservation methods, materials and techniques based on the environment and human resources.

「活用科学」―文化財の活用をすすめるための科学調査
活用が進められ、また地域社会との連携が期待されている歴史的建造物や構造物を対象に、活用がこれらを構成する素材に及ぼす影響を自然科学的手法により明らかにする研究です。活用の前後、そして活用中における状態をモニタリングし、適切なモニタリング方法や評価基準項目の策定などに役立てます。
