Conservation Science 

  Professor Matsui specializes in Conservation Sciences and Conservation Engineering for cultural heritage and museum artifacts, and has a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Okayama. In the World Heritage Studies Program, he teaches conservation sciences, providing students with hands-on experience in the preservation of cultural heritage.

  In order to preserve and make use of cultural heritage and museum artifacts, conservators conduct research on preventive technologies, restoration materials, and damage detection using natural science techniques.
